It is our policy at Smylin' Cavaliers to allow mom and babies uninterrupted time together for the first week.
This allows time for mom and babies to bond, time for the babies to grow a bit and get stronger, and time for us to care for all their special needs including supplemental feedings, assistance latching on to mom, preparing special diets for mom and weighing the pups twice daily to be sure all are getting sufficient nutrients from mom.
As you can see this first few weeks are extremely busy and the care of mom and the pups are our top priority.
